Pakistan’s armed forces have continued what officials describe as “effective and decisive” retaliatory operations against Afghan Taliban positions, destroying an ammunition depot and a drone storage facility in Jalalabad.
According to the channel report, the strikes were carried out under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq and were aimed at what they referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij” elements and Afghan Taliban military installations.
Sources said Pakistani forces are targeting hideouts and military facilities linked to militants allegedly involved in cross-border hostilities.
They maintained that the operations are being conducted with precision and are intended to neutralize threats emanating from Afghan territory.
While military operations continued, authorities in Punjab pressed ahead with a sweeping campaign against undocumented foreign nationals, particularly Afghan citizens residing illegally in the province.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police, a total of 32,729 Afghan nationals and other undocumented foreign residents have been deported from Lahore and across the province so far.
The spokesperson said 346 individuals currently remain at designated holding points pending further processing.
The breakdown provided by the police indicates that among those deported are 12,356 men, 6,673 women, and 13,700 children. Officials further stated that 10,441 of the deportees possessed proof of residence, 11,098 held Afghan Citizen Cards, while 11,190 were categorized as undocumented foreign nationals residing illegally in Pakistan.
Punjab’s Inspector General of Police, Abdul Karim, has directed the provincial police force to maintain a high security alert across the province and to ensure the complete evacuation of all undocumented residents.
