Reports of the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have sparked widespread protests across the globe, from the streets of Karachi and Baghdad to Times Square in New York City. Citizens are taking to the streets to mourn, express anger, and demand accountability, as tensions escalate regionally and internationally.
In Karachi, a large number of people gathered at Numaish Chowrangi. Protesters staged sit-ins at various locations, causing significant disruption to traffic flow.
According to traffic police, roads leading to Numaish Chowrangi have been closed, and alternative routes are being provided to ensure that traffic across the city is not completely paralyzed.
Meanwhile, in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, intense protests were also witnessed. Reports indicate that after news of Ayatollah Khamenei’s death due to U.S. and Israeli actions, protesters moved toward the Green Zone.
The Green Zone is Baghdad’s highly secured area, housing the Iraqi government, parliament, and foreign embassies.

Eyewitnesses reported that some demonstrators attempted to approach the U.S. embassy, while others tried to block vehicles near the Green Zone’s entrance. Tensions between security forces and protesters were visible.
