The reports, first cited by Variety India, have yet to be officially confirmed, but they have fuelled considerable chatter around the 40-year-old star.
Her response? A single Instagram post, shared late on the night of February 27.
Rather than address the speculation directly, Padukone reposted a note about the quiet power of composure, a message that, given the timing, read as anything but coincidental. “Becoming calm is the loudest flex,” the post began. Anyone can lose their sh-t, react fast, talk loud, and make noise. That takes zero strength. Real power shows up when chaos hits, and you don’t fold.” The note went on to frame restraint not as passivity but as mastery. “Calm isn’t weakness; it’s knowing you don’t have to prove anything, explain everything, or react to everyone. While others burn energy panicking, you move quietly, clearly, and on purpose. In a world addicted to noise, staying calm is a damn superpower.”
It is a posture consistent with how Padukone has carried herself through recent controversy. She has spoken briefly but pointedly about her decision to push for 8-hour work shifts on set and about the gendered pay gap in Bollywood, measured statements that generated significant debate without her having to raise her voice.
