The domestic gold market witnessed a significant surge today, extending the upward momentum from the start of the week. Following a bullish trend in international markets, precious metals in Pakistan have reached new heights, impacting both investors and consumers.
Gold Rates Surge
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola rose by Rs3,000, bringing the new price to Rs536,562. This follows a massive jump of Rs7,100 recorded late last week.
Current Domestic Gold Prices:
- Per Tola (24K): Rs536,562 (▲ Rs3,000)
- 10 Grams (24K): Rs460,015 (▲ Rs2,572)
- 10 Grams (22K): Rs421,695
Silver Prices on the Rise
Following the yellow metal’s lead, silver also saw a notable increase in the local market. The price of silver per tola climbed by Rs146, settling at Rs9,094.
- Silver (Per Tola): Rs9,094
- Silver (10 Grams): Rs7,796
The domestic hike is a direct reflection of the global bullion market, where gold prices surged by $30 to reach $5,138 per ounce. This international figure includes a $20 premium specifically applied to the Pakistani market.
Analysts attribute this global rally to shifting economic data and safe-haven demand, which continues to push precious metals into record territory.
