According to the latest data from the morning session at 09:14 PST, the rupee continues to trade within a narrow range against the US dollar and other major currencies.
Interbank vs. Open Market
While the interbank market offers more competitive rates for trade-related transactions, the open market often used by individual travelers and small businesses, reflects a slightly higher “selling” premium.

In the interbank market, the US dollar is being bought at 279.45 and sold at 279.95. Meanwhile, the open market shows a slightly weaker rupee, with the USD selling at 282.25, indicating a spread of roughly 0.8%.
The British pound remains the most expensive major currency, crossing the 380 mark in the open market, while the euro follows at 332.69.
The Kuwaiti Dinar continues to hold its position as the strongest currency globally, valued at a staggering 915.12 in the open market, while the Saudi Riyal and UAE Dirham remain relatively stable for expatriates sending remittances.
