Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a historic single-day gain today, Friday, February 20, 2026, following a massive rally in the international bullion market.
The sharp increase has pushed the precious metal to unprecedented levels, creating a stir among investors and jewelers alike.
According to the latest figures released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold witnessed the following changes:
- 24-Karat Gold (Per Tola): Increased by Rs7,900, settling at a record high of Rs523,962.
- 10 Grams of Gold: Rose by Rs6,773, reaching a new price of Rs449,212.
- 22-Karat Gold: Followed suit, with the 10-gram price climbing to Rs411,792.
This surge follows a more modest gain on Thursday, when the price per tola had increased by Rs1,300 to close at Rs516,062.
International Market
The domestic spike is a direct reflection of global trends. In the international market, gold prices surged by $79, crossing the psychological barrier to settle at $5,012 per ounce.
Experts attribute this “gold rush” to heightened geopolitical tensions and a weakening US dollar, which have prompted investors to seek safety in bullion. The local price in Pakistan also includes a $20 premium per ounce.
Silver Prices
Mirroring the yellow metal’s performance, silver also saw a significant uptick in the local market.
- Silver (Per Tola): Increased by Rs358, reaching Rs8,404.
- Silver (10 Grams): Rose by Rs307 to settle at Rs7,205.
