Overseas Pakistanis have remitted a cumulative $12 billion to the country through the Roshan Digital Account initiative, underscoring both the scheme’s success and the community’s confidence in it.
According to a spokesperson for the State Bank of Pakistan, more than 900,000 Roshan Digital Accounts have been opened by Pakistanis living abroad, through which a total of $12 billion has been transferred.
The figures reflect sustained trust among expatriates in the banking framework provided under the initiative.
Meanwhile, the country’s foreign exchange reserves have also recorded an increase. As per the central bank’s report, reserves rose by $19 million during the week ending 13 February 2026, bringing the total to $21.30 billion.
During the period under review, the State Bank held $16.19 billion in reserves, while commercial banks accounted for $5.10 billion.
The latest uptick indicates relative stability in Pakistan’s external position and highlights the growing confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the Roshan Digital Account scheme.
