The mystery surrounding the brutal killing of a five-year-old boy in Lahore, has been unraveled with a chilling revelation. What initially appeared to be a kidnapping turned into a nightmare when investigators discovered that the child’s own father was allegedly behind the crime, reportedly plotting the murder to settle personal scores and frame his rivals.
As per local media reports citing sources, the body of five-year-old Azan, who had gone missing from Chuhng, was recovered a day earlier from fields near an industrial area.
During the investigation, police detained the child’s father, Azam, on suspicion. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to killing his son.
A kidnapping case had initially been registered on the complaint of the child’s mother, Shazia Bibi. Police launched a probe from multiple angles and questioned several individuals before uncovering what they described as a startling revelation, that the father himself was the prime suspect.
Police said the accused allegedly used a sharp-edged weapon to kill his son and later dumped the body in a deserted area to give the incident the appearance of a kidnapping linked to personal enmity.
According to the victim’s sister, Azan had left home to visit a nearby shop but never returned, prompting the family to search for him and later file a report.
Authorities said that the suspect had an ongoing financial dispute with a rival, Ghulam Rasool, in the Haveli Lakha area. Investigators believe the father devised the horrific plan to implicate his opponent in the crime.
The suspect’s brother, Nadeem, was also allegedly involved in planning the murder and has been arrested and handed over to the investigation wing.
Residents said the family had moved to Lahore from Hujra Shah Muqeem about six months ago. The incident has sparked fear and outrage in the area, with locals demanding strict punishment for those involved.
Police claim the murder weapon has been recovered and further investigation is underway.
