The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained under selling pressure on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index losing more than 1,300 points by the close of trading.
At the end of the session, the index settled at 173,150.41, down 1,303.52 points or 0.75%.
The decline follows Monday’s sharp downturn, when intense and broad-based selling dragged the market significantly lower, eroding substantial value amid weakening investor sentiment and heightened risk aversion.
The KSE-100 Index had plunged 5,149.79 points, or 2.87%, to close at 174,453.94.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee posted a marginal gain against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Tuesday.
By the close of trading, the local currency stood at 279.60 against the greenback, strengthening by Rs0.01.
A day earlier, the rupee had closed at 279.61, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
