Details of the facilities being provided to former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail have been made public in a report submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
According to the report presented by the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, the PTI founder is being kept in a secure and improved environment within the prison.
The report states that he is housed in Compound 7, which comprises multiple cells and opens onto a corridor measuring 57 feet in length and 14 feet in width. The compound, which consists of 74 cells, has the capacity to accommodate 30 to 35 inmates.
In terms of facilities, Imran Khan has been provided with a cycling machine and other gym equipment for exercise.
The report outlines his daily diet in detail. Breakfast includes dates, walnuts, honey, coffee, porridge, lassi, hot milk and chia seeds, along with seasonal fruit and pomegranate juice.
For lunch, he is served desi chicken, mutton, salad, mixed pickles, chips, eggs and mixed lentils.
In the evening, he is provided with a shake made of almonds, raisins, coconut powder, milk, dates, bananas and apples.
The report further states that he has access to natural light and fresh air from morning until evening. He has also been placed in a secure and improved-class category within the jail.
Imran Khan is reportedly allowed to sit in the prison lawn, read books and newspapers, and spend time in the sun.
According to the superintendent’s report, all arrangements have been made to ensure a secure environment and an improved standard of living for him during his incarceration.
