Six people lost their lives in a collision between a car and a trailer on Monday morning on the National Highway in Sindh’s Naushahro Feroze district.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Mir Rohal Khoso, all the victims were travelling in the car, while the trailer driver sustained injuries.
The accident occurred between 5am and 6am. Initial findings suggest speeding and possible brake failure as likely causes, though investigations are ongoing.
The SSP said that one side of the highway in the district is currently under construction, which may have contributed to the rising number of accidents in the area. In coordination with motorway police, authorities have decided to establish five checkpoints to monitor vehicle speed and roadworthiness.
This is the third deadly collision on National Highway in three days. At least 11 people were killed and eight were injured on Sunday during a bus- trailer accident on the National Highway near Tando Masti in Sindh’s Khairpur district.
On Saturday, 13 people died in a traffic accident involving an oil tanker and a passenger bus on the M9 Motorway near Karachi.
