Consumers in Pakistan are bracing for a fresh wave of inflation as petroleum prices are expected to increase starting February 16, 2026.
This development comes alongside reports of record-breaking tax collection via the Petroleum Levy.
Expected Price Hikes
According to industry sources, the following adjustments are anticipated based on the latest working.
| Product | Expected Increase (Per Liter) |
| Petrol | Rs4.39 |
| High-Speed Diesel (HSD) | Rs5.40 |
| Kerosene Oil | Rs4.00 |
| Light Diesel Oil (LDO) | Rs6.55 |
Sources have also revealed a significant fiscal milestone: for the first time in the country’s history, the government has achieved its highest-ever collection of petroleum levy during the first half of a fiscal year.
This aggressive revenue collection has contributed to the steady prices seen previously but is now facing pressure from global market fluctuations.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is currently finalizing its working papers. A formal announcement will be made by the Ministry of Finance following a final consultation with the Prime Minister.
