Pakistan Navy’ newly commissioned ship (PNS) Khaibar (F-282) took part in a bilateral naval exercise with the Turkish Navy during its maiden voyage from Türkiye to Pakistan, the military’s media wing reported on Friday.
PNS Khaibar, a Babur-class (MILGEM) corvette, officially entered service on December 21, 2025, as the second of four vessels being built under a 2018 strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye. The ship is currently active and sailing from Türkiye to Pakistan.
On February 13, 2026, PNS Khaibar visited the Aksaz Naval Base in Türkiye, where it participated in the TURGUTREIS-XIII exercise and conducted coordinated patrols with the Turkish Navy in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Babur-class corvettes are heavily modified versions of the Turkish Ada-class, designed for multi-role operations. The 2,900–3,000-ton vessel measures 108.2 meters in length, with a beam of 14.8 meters, and is powered by a CODAG propulsion system, enabling speeds of 26–31 knots and a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles.
PNS Khaibar is equipped for anti-surface, anti-air, and anti-submarine warfare, featuring a 76mm main gun, vertical launch cells for surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, advanced stealth features, 3D radars, and the ADVENT combat management system.
