Pakistan has witnessed a record rise in exports to the United States, shipping goods worth up to $3 billion in the first six months of the fiscal year.
During the same period, Pakistan imported $1.62 billion worth of products from the U.S. The total bilateral trade volume in the first half of the fiscal year reached $4.61 billion.
According to details, Pakistan’s exports to the U.S. increased by 3 to 4 percent, with $3 billion worth of products exported over six months. Imports from the U.S. stood at $1.62 billion during this period, resulting in a trade balance favoring Pakistan by $1.36 billion.
The report says that last year, Pakistan exported $2.9 billion worth of goods to the U.S. Exports to the U.S. rose by $89 million (3 percent) in six months. Textile exports increased by 4 percent, reaching $247 million.
Manufacturing and mining exports grew by 3 percent to $43.4 million, while agricultural and food exports recorded a 9 percent rise to $9.9 million.
Overall, Pakistan’s total exports to the U.S. last year amounted to $5.28 billion, with the annual bilateral trade volume recorded at $8.71 billion.
