Gold prices in Pakistan surged to unprecedented levels on Wednesday, mirroring a powerful rally in international markets.
Building on Tuesday’s momentum, the 24-karat gold rate climbed by another Rs 2,900, pushing the price to a record-breaking Rs 529,162 per tola.
The latest data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) indicates a market in high gear, driven by a weakening US dollar and heightened safe-haven demand.
The cumulative gain for the first three days of this week has now crossed Rs 9,700 per tola, marking one of the most volatile trading weeks of 2026.

The domestic spike follows a robust performance on the global stage, where spot gold surged past the $5,050 per ounce mark on Wednesday.
Traded as high as $5,065 per ounce during Asian trading hours, up approximately $30 from Tuesday’s close.
Investors are increasingly betting on a Federal Reserve rate cut following recent US economic data showing flatlined consumer spending.
Continued bullion accumulation by global central banks, particularly in Asia, has provided a firm floor for prices despite high interest rates.
It should be noted that the All Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) releases official gold rates at around 1 PM from Monday to Saturday.
