Pakistan has announced the “Nisab” for Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (Fitrana) and Fidya-i-Saum for Ramadan 2026.
As per the the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Allama Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Sadaqat al-Fitr and Fidya for fasting have been set at 1,100 rupees based on barley, and 1,600 rupees based on dates.
Based on raisins, the amount is 3,800 rupees, and based on dried grapes (munqqa) it is 5,400 rupees for Sadaqat al-Fitr and Fidya, while based on wheat flour, the amount has been fixed at 200 rupees.
According to the Council of Islamic Ideology, the Fidya for 30 days of missed fasts has been fixed at 9,000 rupees based on wheat. Based on barley, the Fidya for 30 days is 33,000 rupees; based on dates, 48,000 rupees; and based on raisins, it amounts to 114,000 rupees.
As per the notification, the Fidya for 30 days based on munqqa is 162,000 rupees, while based on wheat flour, it has been set at 6,000 rupees.
Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, clarified that Sadaqat al-Fitr is obligatory upon every financially capable Muslim, man, woman, child, and adult. He further said that if a fast is deliberately broken, the expiation (kaffarah) is either to fast continuously for 60 days or to feed two meals to 60 needy people.
