Pakistan is likely to attend the first meeting of US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” (BoP) on Gaza, set to be held in Washington on Feb 19 after receiving the invitation.
As per local media reports citing sources, the meeting will be held on February 19 under the chairmanship of US President Donald Trump. From Pakistan’s side, the Prime Minister or the Deputy Prime Minister will represent the country at the meeting.
The meeting will deliberate on the situation in Gaza, measures related to peace and stability, and the future course of action.
Reports said that Pakistan’s participation is being viewed as an important part of diplomatic efforts to establish peace in the region and address the humanitarian crisis.
Pakistan joined 13 other countries in signing the charter of the Board of Peace on January 22 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, becoming a founding member of the initiative.
The board was initially proposed in September 2025 and formally established last month. According to the charter, the US government serves as the official depository, and the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington has been designated as the board’s headquarters.
