The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Rawalpindi has arrested a suspect accused of circulating indecent videos of women via WhatsApp and using the material for online blackmail.
According to NCCIA officials, the arrested man, Abdullah Jahangir, is a resident of Gujar Khan and had allegedly been involved in blackmailing women using explicit content for an extended period.
Authorities said a laptop and two mobile phones were recovered from the suspect during the operation. Initial examination of the devices revealed the presence of sensitive data.
Investigators said the suspect used threats to circulate videos and images on WhatsApp to extort and blackmail victims.
The arrest was made during a successful raid led by Inspector Baseerat Suleman, after which a case was registered against the suspect.
Officials said the seized electronic devices have been sent for detailed forensic analysis to obtain further evidence, adding that more revelations are expected as the investigation progresses.
