At least four people lost their lives and dozens were injured in a tragic road accident late Saturday night when a passenger bus collided with a truck on Jalalpur Road near Mandhali Mor.
The bus was transporting wedding guests who were travelling back to Gogdan from Jahanian at the time of the crash.
Rescue officials said the bus, reportedly travelling at high speed, overturned while attempting to cross in front of an overloaded truck. The impact proved fatal for four passengers, including two men, a woman, and a child, who died at the scene.
Emergency teams from Rescue 1122 rushed to the location and began relief operations. A total of 28 people were injured in the incident, with 27 suffering serious injuries and being shifted to Lodhran District Hospital for treatment. One injured person received first aid at the site.
The accident highlights ongoing concerns over road safety and the risks posed by speeding and overloaded vehicles.
Just last month, the country witnessed multiple deadly crashes on a single day, including one in Punjab’s Sargodha district where a truck plunged into a dry canal, and another near Ormara in Balochistan where a passenger coach overturned, leaving scores dead and injured.
