The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has decided to auction a further 40 choice vehicle number plates.
According to a private television channel, the Excise Department said the auction will be held on 14 February.
Choice number plates bearing names such as Syed, Qadri, Jatoi, Raja and Pashtun, along with several others, will be offered during the auction.
In addition, number plates named after districts including Khyber, Buner, Mohmand, Kohat and other areas will also be put up for auction.
The department stated that the base price for bidding on a unique choice number plate has been set at Rs 1 million.
If fewer than three bidders participate for any particular number plate, its auction will be postponed.
The Excise Department further said that interested participants will be required to submit Rs 100,000 as a security deposit to take part in the bidding process. Successful bidders must pay the full amount immediately after the auction.
According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department, all stages of the auction will be conducted in a transparent manner.
