The Westerly winds will continue to keep Karachi weather chilly with the minimum temperature in the city may range between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, while the maximum daytime temperature is likely to remain between 20°C and 22°C, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD said dry and cool winds are expected to continue, although their intensity is likely to gradually weaken over the course of the week. Overall weather conditions are forecast to remain mostly clear, with partly cloudy skies at times.
According to the Met Office, Karachi’s weather is expected to stay moderate throughout February, though residents may experience cooler temperatures during nighttime hours.
Meanwhile, much of the country remained under the grip of a cold wave on Monday, as the National Weather Forecasting Centre (NWFC) reported that a new western disturbance is likely to affect upper parts of the country until Tuesday.
In its daily weather advisory, the NWFC warned of possible traffic disruptions due to heavy snowfall, which could lead to road closures and slippery conditions in several areas. These include Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Murree, Galiyat, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, Haveli, as well as Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Harnai and Zhob.
The center also cautioned that there is a heightened risk of landslides and avalanches in mountainous regions of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
“Tourists are advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel during the forecast period,” the NWFC said.
