British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has condemned President Trump’s recent statements regarding the role of NATO and British forces in Afghanistan, labeling them “dangerous and insulting” and demanding an apology.
Sir Keir Starmer stated, “If I had made such a statement, I would certainly apologize.” He reminded them that 457 British soldiers lost their lives during the war in Afghanistan while supporting the United States following the 9/11 attacks.
This comes after President Trump claimed that NATO troops stayed away from the front lines during the conflict.
The British Prime Minister dismissed the President’s claims as “ridiculous,” while Conservative Leader Kemi Badenoch also weighed in, calling the remarks “utter nonsense.”
In addition, Prince Harry, who now resides in the United States, spoke out, emphasizing that the sacrifices made by NATO forces in Afghanistan must be respected.
Sharing his personal experience, Prince Harry said, “I served in Afghanistan myself; I made friends there, and I lost friends there. Parents buried their sons and daughters, and children were left without parents.”
