The Murree district administration has been placed on high alert following a spell of intense snowfall that has paralyzed movement in the hill station.
A massive rescue operation is currently in progress to safely evacuate approximately 5,000 vehicles stranded within the city limits.
Rescue Operations in Full Swing
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Murree, heavy machinery, including cranes and loaders, has been deployed to clear snow from the main arteries. However, the task remains challenging, as visibility has dropped to zero in several areas.
Due to the extreme weather and lack of visibility, the administration has banned the entry of further vehicles into Murree until further notice.
Simultaneously, rescue operations are also underway for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) trapped in heavy snowfall in the Tirah Valley.
