The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) began the new week on positive note as the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged over 2,200 points in early trading on Monday.
At 11:28am, the benchmark index was trading at 187,299.65, a gain of 2200.82 points or 1.19%.
Buying interest was seen across key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, fertilisers, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, and power generation and refinery firms. Major index-heavy stocks such as ARL, HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, POL, PPL, PSO, SNGPL, SSGC, MCB, MEBL, and NBP traded in positive territory.
Last week, the PSX ended on a firmer note, with a strong rebound in the final trading session helping the KSE-100 Index recover earlier losses caused by heightened regional geopolitical tensions.
The index closed at 185,098.83 points, marking a weekly gain of 689.16 points, or 0.4%, after starting the week at 184,409.67 points.
