SP Investigation Usman Sadozai claimed that the primary suspect has allegedly abused over 100 children. The arrested individuals have been identified as the main suspect, Imran, and his accomplice, Waqas Khan.
Acting on a tip-off from a victimized child, the police team conducted a raid in the Tipu Sultan area.
Between 2020 and 2025, Karachi Police had received 7 formal complaints regarding these incidents.
SP Sadozai revealed that DNA samples from various cases across different districts matched a single individual. This consistent DNA match over six years triggered a specialized investigation.
In all reported cases, boys aged between 12 and 13 were targeted.
The main suspect, Imran, is a resident of Manzoor Colony and operates a small puncture repair shop. Upon arrest, Imran confessed to abusing dozens of children over the past six years.
He typically took the children to areas near the Malir River. He would lure children by offering them rides or the use of his motorcycle.
Evidence and Identification
The suspect’s DNA has matched in all 7 registered cases. Furthermore, victims in three separate cases have already identified Imran.
In one instance, a child identified both Imran and his accomplice, Waqas Khan, stating they had taken him to Surjani Town. The suspects reportedly fled that scene when the child started screaming for help.
Government & Police Response
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah hailed the arrest as a “major success.” He noted that in one specific case, a child was abused by more than two individuals.
To solve these cases, Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan formed a special team on January 6th, headed by DIG CIA Muqadas Haider. The team successfully apprehended the most-wanted suspects within just 11 days.
