Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced to suspend gas supply to industrial users and CNG stations for 48 hours in a bid to improve supply for domestic consumers.
SSGC announced that gas supply to industrial consumers and CNG stations will remain halted from 8:00 am on January 17 until 8:00 am on Monday. According to the company, the decision has been taken to address the difficulties faced by household consumers due to gas shortages and low pressure in various parts of the country.
The company said that gas demand from domestic consumers rises significantly during the winter season, putting additional strain on the system. In this situation, priority is being given to household users, leading to the temporary suspension of gas supply to industrial consumers and CNG stations.
SSGC officials said that the measure is expected to improve gas pressure in residential areas, ensuring better gas availability for cooking and other household needs. The company appealed to industrial consumers and CNG station operators for cooperation, assuring them that gas supply will be restored after the specified period.
Citizens have also been advised to use gas judiciously so that the maximum number of consumers can benefit from the available resources.
