Gold prices across Pakistan remained steady on Friday, following a significant drop from previous record highs. While the yellow metal held its position, silver prices recorded a notable increase in the domestic market.
According to data shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), gold rates remained unchanged from the previous session.
24-Karat Gold (per tola): Sold at Rs 482,462.
24-Karat Gold (per 10 grams): Quoted at Rs 413,633.
22-Karat Gold (per 10 grams): Sold at Rs 379,177.
In contrast, silver witnessed an upward trend. The price of 24-karat silver rose by Rs 100 to reach Rs 9,525 per tola. Similarly, 10 grams of silver increased by Rs 86, settling at Rs 8,166.
The stability in local gold rates reflects the global market, where gold was traded at approximately $4,601 per ounce. International silver prices also saw a slight uptick, reaching roughly $90.50 per ounce.
Experts suggest that while precious metals have recently retreated from historic peaks due to a stronger U.S. dollar and profit-taking by investors, they remain at significantly high levels compared to previous years.
