England on Friday beat Pakistan by 37 runs in their opening match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup in Harare.
Chasing the target of 211 set by the England team, Pakistan’s openers Sameer Munhas and Mohammad Shayan were dismissed for a combined total of just 23 runs. Usman Khan reached the pavilion after scoring 6 runs, while Ahmed Hussain was out for 12.
Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled, and the Pakistan Under-19 team was bowled out for 173 runs in the 47th over while chasing 211, suffering a defeat by 37 runs.
Captain Farhan Yousuf stood out with a score of 65 runs. For England, Alex Green, Albert, and James Minto took 2 wickets each.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field against England. England has set Pakistan a target of 211 runs to win.
Pakistan’s excellent bowling restricted the English batsmen, and the entire England U19 team was bowled out for 210 runs in the 47th over. For England, Falconer was the top scorer with 66 runs.
For Pakistan, Ahmed Hussain took three wickets, while Ali Raza, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar claimed two wickets each.
