Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has said that the people of Karachi gave the Pakistan Peoples Party an opportunity, and the results are now visible in the form of ongoing development work across the city.
He added that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s party will announce a major development package for Karachi in the coming days.
Speaking on the matter, the mayor stated that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and the Sindh government are working in coordination, while town administrations are also expected to extend full support. He emphasised that no compromise would be made on the quality of development projects.
Murtaza Wahab said that, keeping public inconvenience in mind, construction and rehabilitation works are being completed in phases. He added that all major roads in the city will be improved gradually as part of a structured development plan.
Highlighting Jahangir Road as an example, the mayor said that its reconstruction would significantly improve traffic flow and provide better facilities to commuters. He described the rehabilitation of Jahangir Road as an important component of Karachi’s overall development strategy.
Reiterating his stance, Murtaza Wahab said that since the PPP was given the mandate in Karachi, work has been progressing day and night. He added that several stalled projects are being revived to address long-standing civic issues and improve the city’s infrastructure.
