Actor Alizeh Shah has issued a final warning to director Yasir Nawaz, threatening a defamation lawsuit if he continues to mention her name in the media.
The dispute stems from their 2020 collaboration on the drama Mera Dil Mera Dushman, after which Nawaz publicly expressed regret over working with her, calling the experience “bad.”
Despite five years passing, Shah claims Nawaz repeatedly “drags her name” on talk shows and interviews, oscillating between apologies and fresh criticism.
In a recent Instagram statement, Shah revealed she has documented every instance of alleged defamation. She warned that further mentions would trigger immediate legal action and the disclosure of the “real reasons” behind their strained relationship, which she hinted would damage Nawaz’s public image.

This confrontation follows Shah’s broader 2025 campaign against toxic industry practices. She recently opened up about suffering from PTSD due to harassment and exploitation, explaining that her efforts to set personal boundaries, such as requesting separate makeup rooms or calling out unhygienic practices, led to her being unfairly labeled as “difficult.”
Shah maintains that Nawaz’s persistent public comments are a continuation of this “patriarchal culture” designed to silence vocal women in the industry.
