The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its full support for the Bangladesh Cricket Board, stating that it will stand alongside Bangladesh against any pressure from India or manipulation of the sport, and will coordinate with other cricket boards to take a unified stance on the matter.
According to PCB sources, Bangladesh has every right to decide not to send its team to India, and this decision has been made on the basis of security concerns.
The announcement comes at a time when Indian media claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) had rejected Bangladesh’s request to move their T20 World Cup matches away from India, warning that points could be deducted if matches are not played in India.
However, Aminullah Islam, head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, dismissed these reports as false and baseless, stating that the ICC has not made any such decision, nor has it mentioned any instructions or point deductions.
Aminullah further explained that communications with the ICC are ongoing as usual, and that Bangladeshi players are considered unsafe in India, which is why a request has been made to play at a neutral venue.
He added that the Bangladesh Cricket Board will soon provide the ICC with detailed security concerns in order to find a resolution.
Sources said the PCB will closely monitor the situation alongside other international cricket boards and will take necessary measures to prevent any unfair pressure.
