Foreign currencies continued to trade at elevated levels in the local market, with the US dollar, Euro and British pound maintaining strong positions against the Pakistani rupee on Wednesday.
The US dollar was quoted at Rs281.05 for buying and Rs283.05 for selling. The Euro also remained firm, trading at Rs330.60 on the buying side and Rs334.10 on the selling side.
The UK pound sterling remained the most expensive widely traded currency, with buying rates recorded at Rs378.85 and selling rates at Rs382.85.
Among regional currencies, the UAE dirham was traded at Rs76.70 for buying and Rs77.55 for selling, while the Saudi riyal stood at Rs74.80 and Rs75.45, respectively.
The Australian dollar was quoted at Rs187.60 for buying and Rs191.10 for selling, while the Canadian dollar traded at Rs203.60 and Rs208.10.
The Chinese yuan was available at Rs39.58 for buying and Rs39.98 for selling. Meanwhile, the Japanese yen was quoted at Rs1.79 on the buying side and Rs1.89 on the selling side, while the Indian rupee traded at Rs3.03 and Rs3.12.
European currencies also remained steady. The Swiss franc was priced at Rs351.82 for buying and Rs354.57 for selling, while the Danish krone traded at Rs43.72 and Rs44.12, respectively.
