Cold and dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of Pakistan. However, severe cold conditions are likely to continue in the northern and mountainous regions, with partly cloudy skies and light rain or snowfall forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and other high-altitude areas.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to experience cold and dry weather, with the possibility of fog during the early morning and night hours.
Similar conditions are forecast for most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where cold and dry weather will persist, while intense cold is expected in hilly regions. Fog is likely during morning and night hours in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan, among other districts.
In Punjab, cold and dry weather is also expected in most districts. Murree, the Galiyat and surrounding areas are likely to experience severe cold with partly cloudy conditions.
Moderate to dense fog is forecast during the morning and night in Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur and other areas.
For Balochistan, very cold conditions are expected in the northern and upper districts, particularly during the morning and night. Cold weather will also persist across much of the province, including coastal areas, potentially affecting daily routines.
Recorded temperatures include minus 3°C in Ziarat, 0°C in Zhob, 7°C in Sibi and 11°C in Turbat. The minimum temperature in Nokkundi was 3°C, while Chaman recorded 1°C. In coastal areas, temperatures stood at 9°C in Gwadar and 11°C in Jiwani.
In Sindh, cold and dry weather is expected in most districts, with fog likely during morning and night hours in Sukkur, Shikarpur, Rohri, Kashmore and Mohenjo-daro. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will continue to experience severe cold and partly cloudy conditions.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to exercise caution, particularly while travelling or driving in fog-prone and mountainous areas.
With cold conditions expected to persist, temperatures in northern and upper regions may remain near or below freezing, and people are urged to wear warm clothing and take special care of children and the elderly.
