Five, including woman and children fall into open drain in Karachi

Five people, including a woman and children, fell into an open drain in Karachi’s Korangi area.

According to a private television channel, rescue officials said the incident occurred in Mehran Town, Korangi, where the woman and children were returning from an event when they fell into an open sewer.

Rescue officials stated that efforts were made immediately upon receiving information about the incident.

All five individuals were pulled out of the drain, while three were rescued in an unconscious state and shifted to hospital.

Officials further said that the cover of the drainage channel was broken at one point. All five individuals fell into the drain through the damaged section of the cover.
