As Pakistanis welcome 2026, health experts are highlighting walking as the most practical and sustainable fitness resolution. Walking is accessible, requires no special equipment, and can be done almost anywhere, making it easier to maintain consistently compared to gym routines or structured fitness classes.

Research has indicated that walking at a brisk pace for only 30 minutes each day is beneficial for the heart, muscles, and mental well-being.

For most folks, having small and attainable fitness goals would increase the chances of maintaining healthy behavior patterns over the year.

One aspect that distinguishes walking from the gym is that walking can be easily incorporated into a person’s lifestyle, unlike gyms, which may be expensive or intimidating to begin with.

Little things, like using the stairs instead of the elevator, walking to local shops, or taking short walks around the neighborhood in the evenings, can do the trick.

In major cities, public parks and promenades experience more activity during this time as families and individuals take to walking as a healthy start for the coming year. Walks can be easily incorporated into daily living as a very inexpensive, doable, and healthy solution to staying healthy, rather than taking up expensive gym memberships.

By walking, one can achieve a flexible form of fitness that can be maintained on a consistent basis all year long, which will help the citizens of a country develop a healthy lifestyle in the year 2026.
