The Nashpa field and processing plant are located in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan.
According to official sources, the discovery was made after successful drilling and testing activities in the area.
The find is expected to enhance domestic oil production and help reduce the country’s reliance on imported fuel.
Experts suggest that discovery would not only contribute to meeting local energy needs but also support economic stability by saving foreign exchange.
They believe the new oil reserves could open further exploration opportunities in the region, encouraging investment and technological development in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector.
OGDCL officials said further evaluation is underway to determine the exact volume and commercial viability of the discovery, while production planning will be finalized after detailed assessment.
The announcement has been welcomed by industry stakeholders, who see it as a hopeful sign amid ongoing challenges in the country’s energy landscape.
