The convenor central committee of MQM-Pakistan on Thursday took a major step against party’s founder Altaf Hussain.
According to media reports, a meeting of the convenor central committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-Pakistan) was held at the party’s temporary headquarters in Bahadurabad, chaired by MQM-P Chairman Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
The meeting conducted a detailed review of serious violations of organisational discipline and the party constitution.
After thorough deliberations, the convenor central committee unanimously decided to expel MQM founder Altaf Hussain from the party’s basic membership for life, citing grave violations of party rules and discipline.
In its statement, the central committee reaffirmed that MQM-Pakistan is a constitutional and democratic political party committed to working in the national interest of Pakistan. It emphasised that no individual would be allowed to act against party policy, organisational discipline, or the state of Pakistan.
The decision has taken immediate effect.
