Hafiz Hamdullah, a senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), has expressed strong criticism of several recent legislative and economic developments in Pakistan.
Speaking to the media in Hangu, he stated that the 27th Constitutional Amendment has effectively “buried” the 1973 Constitution.
He further criticized the ban on marriage for individuals under 18, calling it contrary to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
According to Hamdullah, laws related to the functioning of religious seminaries and the abolition of the interest-based financial system have not been properly implemented, while legislation against domestic violence also conflicts with Islamic principles.
Hamdullah additionally voiced concerns over the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines, describing it as a major economic failure. He questioned whether Pakistan, already $80 billion in debt, would also be privatizing other public assets.
