Pakistna Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema, Noreen and Uzma, and TTAP Spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai, PTI MNA Shahid Khattak, PTI lawyer Khalid Yousuf and others were arrested by Punjab police as authorties once again used water cannons to disperse the protestors who were staging a sit-in outside Adia Jail on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday, the scheduled day for the meeting, strict security arrangements were put in place in and around Adiala Jail. Section 144 was imposed, checkpoints were set up at various locations, a heavy police presence was deployed, and a water cannon was also stationed at the site.
Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Khan arrived at Adiala Jail for the meeting, but police stopped them at the factory checkpoint and did not allow them to proceed further. In response, the sisters, along with party leaders and workers, staged a sit-in near the jail.

During this time, a large number of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers were present and chanted slogans.
Several PTI leaders, including Barrister Gohar Khan, Barrister Salman Akram Raja, Tahir Sultan, Malik Shujat Jindran, Muhammad Mudassar, and Ahmed Nadeem Goraya, also arrived to meet Imran Khan, but none were granted permission to do so.
Videos posted by PTI Punjab on X after 1am showed water cannons being used against what appeared to be protesters. The party condemned the action, saying that in freezing conditions, unarmed and peaceful citizens, including women and children, were targeted with water cannons.
It should be noted that a court order issued by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on March 24 has mandated that meetings with Imran will be permitted twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
