The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed for public dealing on January 1, 2026 (Thursday), on account of a bank holiday.
Consequently, all commercial banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks will be closed to the public on the aforementioned date.
However, please note that employees of banks, DFIs, and microfinance banks will attend the office as usual for internal clearing and accounting purposes.
January 1st is a mandatory annual bank holiday in Pakistan.

For the upcoming year, Thursday, January 1, 2026, will be a bank holiday.
While the institutions are closed to the public, employees are still required to report to work as usual.
