The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bullish trend in early trade on Wednesday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained over 950 points, crossing the 170,000 level.
At 11:15am, the benchmark index was hovering at 170,410.51, a gain of 954.13 points or 0.56%.
Buying interest emerged in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, and power generation and refinery. Major index-heavy stocks such as HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, POL, PPL, HBL, and UBL traded in positive territory.
On Tuesday, the PSX maintained its bullish momentum, with the benchmark index surging as investors accumulated fresh positions across leading sectors, driving overall market activity higher. The index gained 1,153.14 points, or 0.69%, to close at 169,456.39.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported on Tuesday that workers’ remittances grew by more than 9 percent during the first five months of the current fiscal year (FY26).
Pakistan received $16.14 billion in remittances during July to November of fiscal year 2026 (FY26), compared to $14.76 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year. This reflects an increase of 9.3%, or $1.3 billion.
