A former army officer and YouTuber, Adil Raja, who is currently in the UK, has been ordered by a judge to issue a public apology to Brigadier (Retd.) Rashid Naseer.
According to details, High Court Judge Richard Spearman issued an order instructing Adil Raja to publish a general apology on all his social media accounts for making false claims, and not to delete it for 28 days. Adil Raja had lost the defamation case filed against him in October this year.
Under the court order, Adil Raja must pay £50,000 (equivalent to 18.7 million rupees) in damages and €260,000 (equivalent to 97.1 million rupees) in fines by December 22.
The court also issued a stern warning to Adil Raja to refrain from engaging in disruptive activities in the future, and revoked his right of defence due to the destructive and baseless false content he had produced.
Despite the YouTuber’s vigorous efforts, he failed to find any path to acquittal. It is worth noting that Adil Raja and his followers had great confidence in the courts and justice system in London.
Adil Raja’s lawyer has indicated that they will appeal the decision in the Court of Appeal.
