The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) spokesman stated in this regard that the deported passengers were taken into custody immediately upon their arrival at Lahore Airport.
The spokesman said that the passengers had traveled from Lahore to Malaysia earlier this year on a visit visa. The accused attempted to travel from Sharjah to the United Kingdom using fake documents.
An additional 44 Pakistanis deported from various countries
The FIA spokesman added that the accused obtained the fake visas with the help of agents, and the accused were deported to Pakistan due to the fake documents.
The spokesman mentioned that the accused have been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Lahore.
The Pakistani government and the Interior Minister have recently decided to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against fake visas and the agent mafia.
It has been decided that the passports of deported individuals will be canceled to ensure they do not receive visas again, thereby discouraging the use of illegal pathways.
Pakistan has strict laws to prevent human smuggling and migrant smuggling, such as the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act, 2018 and the Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants Act, 2018. These laws can result in long prison sentences upon conviction.
These arrests and deportations are part of an ongoing effort by the FIA against the agent mafia, aimed at dismantling the networks that send citizens abroad through illegal and dangerous methods.
