Across-the-board buying was observed, fueling growth in nearly all key sectors, including:
- Automobile Assemblers
- Commercial Banks
- Cement
- Oil and Gas Exploration Companies (O&G)
- Power Generation
- Index-heavy stocks such as HUBCO, OGDC, POL, PPL, HBL, and UBL were all trading firmly in the green.
Global Context
The bullish run aligns with generally steadier Asian markets, driven by revived international hopes of an imminent US rate cut. MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares was flat but on track for its first weekly gain in four.
While Japan’s Nikkei also saw little movement, South Korean shares dropped after the central bank signalled an end to its easing cycle. Activity in US markets remains muted due to the shortened trading session following the Thanksgiving holiday.
