Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that not only Imran Niazi but all those who brought him to power are equally responsible.
The former prime minister stated that the events from 2018 to 2022 were caused by PTI. He added that the politics of hatred, lies, and discord inflicted great damage on the country.
While addressing newly elected members of the assembly, Nawaz Sharif said that during the PTI government, the country saw nothing but destruction. He said a culture of disrespect took root and the economy was pushed to the brink of collapse.
The former prime minister stated that inflation soared to 39 percent under PTI, whereas during his own tenure it was only three percent.
Nawaz Sharif further said that had the journey of development continued, Pakistan would have held a prominent position globally today, and the country would not have had to rely on the IMF.
He expressed surprise over PTI’s decision to boycott the Punjab by-elections. He questioned how it could be considered a boycott when Omar Ayub’s wife was contesting the election.
Nawaz Sharif also praised the development projects carried out under the PML-N government, stating that merit is being upheld, laptops are being distributed, roads are being built, green buses are running, law and order has improved, and ration cards are being provided without any religious discrimination.
