Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said that Pakistan did not carry out any attack on Afghanistan, adding that “if we conduct an operation, we do it openly and with prior intimation.”
DG ISPR made these remarks while briefing senior journalists.
He stated that Pakistan’s policy is against terrorism, not against the people of Afghanistan. He further said that the court martial of former DG ISI, General (Retd.) Faiz Hameed, is a legal and judicial process, and there should be no speculation regarding it.
Responding to a question about an alleged attack on Afghanistan, the DG ISPR said that Pakistan always makes clear announcements before taking such action.
He added that terrorist activities originating from the Afghan side of the border have not yet ceased.
He said that various committees have been formed to combat terrorism, with representatives of the Pakistan Army included. He added that the Balochistan government is actively countering the alliance forming against the country’s economic stability.
DG ISPR also said that the Balochistan government is fully implementing the National Action Plan to counter terrorism.
Regarding the court martial of General (Retd.) Faiz Hameed, he emphasized that it is a lawful and judicial matter, and speculation should be avoided. He added that once the process concludes and a decision is made, it will be shared publicly.
