The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday inched upward as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained nearly 300 points in early trade.
At 1pm, the benchmark index was trading at 162,247.06, up 262.98 points or 0.16%.
Buying interest was noted across key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, fertiliser, oil and gas exploration, OMCs, power generation, and refineries.
On Monday, Pakistan equities ended lower, with the KSE-100 Index slipping in a quiet session marked by limited volatility. The index closed at 161,984.09, down 118.84 points or 0.07%.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee posted a slight gain against the US dollar, appreciating 0.07% during early trading in the inter-bank market on Tuesday.
At 10am, the currency stood at 280.42, up Re0.19 from the previous close. On Monday, it had settled at 280.61.
