The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday that twenty-two militants, allegedly sponsored by India, were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing, ISPR, the operation was conducted following information about the presence of militants associated with Fitna-ul-Khawarij. The security forces effectively targeted the terrorists’ hideouts, and during an intense exchange of fire, 22 terrorists were killed.
ISPR said that a clearance operation is underway in the area to locate any remaining militants allegedly backed by India.
The media wing added that under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, actions will continue until terrorism is completely eliminated. The security forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to dismantle enemy networks.
The Pakistan Army’s media wing further said that completely eradicating terrorism supported and sponsored by foreign elements is a key objective.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while commending the security forces for the successful operation against Fitna-ul-Khawarij in Bannu, said that the killing of 22 terrorists is a major achievement by the security forces.
