Pakistan’s large-scale manufacturing (LSM) sector recorded a 4.08% increase during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, while automobile production rose by 84.58% and the output of transport equipment increased by 35.38%.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) released the latest industrial production data, showing a 4.08% rise in LSM output from July to September of the ongoing fiscal year.
The data indicates that, on a year-on-year basis, LSM output in September 2025 increased by 2.69%. Compared to August 2025, industrial production rose by 2.05% in September.
PBS reported that automobile production surged by 84.58% during July–September, while transport equipment output grew by 35.38%. During the same period, cement sector production recorded an increase of 15.32%.
The statistics further show that output in the food group rose by 6.94% in the first quarter, while tobacco production increased by 2.48% and the garments sector by 2.43%.
Leather production grew by 2.14%, paperboard by 5.34%, and rubber products by 14.10%. In contrast, machinery and equipment output declined by 14.15%.
PBS also reported that furniture production fell by 22.26%, while chemical products decreased by 4.38% and iron and steel output dropped by 3.52%.
