Field Marshal Asim Munir on Sunday said that anyone imposing war on Pakistan will be responded to in the same way as they were in May, adding that victory in the war against India came with the help of God.
A ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in honor of Jordan’s King Abdullah II, where Field Marshal Asim Munir was also acknowledged.
On this occasion, the Field Marshal said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and that God granted Pakistan honour in its war against India.
Referring to Quranic verses, he said that just as the number of enemies against Muslims increased, even the dust of the earth would blind their eyes.
Asim Munir added that just as victory was achieved during the Battle of Uhud through the use of earth (dust), Pakistan’s soldiers fought in a similar spirit.
At Aiwan-e-Sadr, Jordan’s King Abdullah II was awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari said that “we are all one family.”
A large number of federal ministers, governors and foreign diplomats attended the ceremony, along with Bilawal Bhutto and Aseefa Bhutto.
President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the Nishan-e-Pakistan upon King Abdullah II. A luncheon was also hosted in his honor.
